If you were only allowed to have only 5 makeup products, what would they be? -a tough question for a makeup junkie. Over the years, I have tried a lot of beauty products – from drug store brands to high end brands. I keep products that I always reach for in my makeup bag right by the bathroom sink. In no particular order, these are my absolute must-haves that I keep repurchasing.
1. Nars Blush in Madly
Nars blushes are in my opinion the best blushes, and well worth the splurge. Its luxurious, silky texture is long lasting and buildable for a day-to-night look. Madly is a nice peachy color that gives you the natural glow that goes well with any look.
2. Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer
I’ve tried a few eyeshadow primers, but I keep going back to this one. It works the best on me keeping my eye makeup in place. I have oily eyelids – but with this on, I don’t need to carry my makeup with me for a touch-up. Put on my makeup in the morning, and forget about it!
3. MUFE Ultra HD Foundation – 127 Dark Sand
I was on the hunt for a light foundation that also had good coverage to even out my skin tone without looking like a greaseball by the end of the day. A friend of mine who did makeup told me about MUFE. I tried it – and now I’m on my third bottle. In the summer or days where I don’t need a lot of coverage, I mix a drop into my moisturizer for a dewy look. During the winter months, I put a dot on my forehead, under my eyes, and on my nose and blend outwards. A little goes a long way and it lasts all day
4. L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara
I use the waterproof version. Smudge-proof, sweat-proof, stay-all-day – need I say more?
5. LORAC Front of the Line PRO Eyeliner
I did a full review of this eyeliner here. I like my make up to last all day – I can’t be bothered with touch-ups and I don’t want to look like a panda by the end of the day. Hello LORAC!
As I was writing this post, I realized I should really have titled this post my ‘holy grail’ make up products. What are some of your favorite products? Leave me a comment below or tag me on Instagram @saveurie.
